Judy Watson: Blood Language

By Judy Watson & Louise Martin Chew

This book was a gift in February that I hadn’t gotten around to reading -only a look at the pictures. The recent trip to Cairns made me go back and read! Enjoying it so far…..

Finished this read- the language used to describe her works is beautiful. I had always admired her skills and the use of ochres on canvas but this book gave a new appreciation of the depth behind the works. A great quote about her work :…“a seductive beautiful exterior with a strong message like a deadly poison dart that insinuates itself into the consciousness of the viewer without them being aware of the package until it implodes and leaks it’s contents”
